When I was young Halloween was off limits. The only interaction I had with it was when Trick or Treaters would come calling and leave with a religious tract or a prayer aimed in their direction. The films and TV programmes, the parties, the music were unknown to me. So when I grew to be a man I was enthralled by what I had missed. It took on a great resonance and became more important than it would have been had it been accessible. This is a paean to those missing experiences that other children had. This is nostalgia for something that never happened. These are my songs for a missing Halloween.
